An extreme heat warning is in effect as triple digit temperatures are forecasted in the Santa Clarita Valley through Wednesday.
Temperatures in the Santa Clarita Valley are expected to peak Wednesday, with conditions expected to reach near 105 Wednesday, said Mike Wofford, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NWS).
By Thursday into the weekend, conditions are expected to cool back down to the 90s, which is normal for this time of year, according to Wofford.
With conditions set to reach 105, an extreme heat warning has been put into place through Wednesday.
Residents are encouraged to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
Health officials say it is important to drink fluids before you get thirsty.
Despite the high temperatures, there are no fire warnings in effect for the Santa Clarita Valley as of Tuesday.
