Gusty winds are expected over the weekend followed by a chance of mid-week rain showers.
Beginning Friday night into Saturday, winds out of the north are expected to start increasing, said Ryan Kittell, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NWS).
By Saturday afternoon into the evening, winds are expected to gusts up to 25 to 35 mph, with wind prone areas maybe seeing gusts up to 50 mph, according to Kittell.
Due to the strong winds expected, a wind advisory has been issued for the Santa Clarita Valley.
As of Friday, no fire watches have been issued due to the winds.
However, there are still elevated fire concerns due to the vegetation in the Santa Clarita Valley being dry.
By next week, temperatures are expected to drop down to the lower 60s with a chance of rain, according to NWS officials.
By Tuesday into Tuesday night most of Los Angeles County could see rain, according to Kittell.
The Santa Clarita Valley could see anywhere from a half inch to an inch of rain, according to Kittell.
Snow elevations are expected to remain above 6,000 feet, which would not impact the Grapevine.
