“Throughout the weekend, Santa Clarita will see some clouds with daytime highs in the mid 90s and nighttime lows in the high 60s to low 70s,” said Stuart Seto, a weather specialist with the National Weather Service.

Although areas around the Santa Clarita Valley have been receiving flash flood warnings, there are no flash flood threats for the City of Santa Clarita, Seto said.

“The mountain areas, including Gorman and the San Gabriel Mountains, have a 20 percent chance to see some thunderstorms,” he said.

On Saturday, a high pressure system is set to move in, bringing slightly warmer temperatures to the Santa Clarita Valley.

Along with the higher temperatures, the high pressure system is also set to raise humidity levels to around 20 percent, with winds from the south blowing at 10 to 20 mph.

But even with the winds, weather experts are not extremely worried about brush fires breaking out.

“Humidity levels need to be in the single digits in order for there to be fire danger,” Seto said. “Although with the chance of lightning strikes, that could start a fire.”

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
