Triple-Digit Temperatures In Santa Clarita Weather Forecast, Brush Fire Conditions Elevated

Triple-digit temperatures are in the Santa Clarita weather forecast next week, with elevated fire conditions currently in effect.

Beginning this week, a slight warming trend is expected with a bigger heating trend next week, with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees, said Kristen Stewart, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, (NWS).

Between Thursday through Sunday, temperatures are expected to range between the mid to high 90s, Stewart said.

“Next Tuesday through Thursday temperatures will be straddling triple digits,” Stewart said.

Temperatures are expected to peak around 106 degrees during the week with humidity levels dipping down to near single-digit levels, resulting in elevated fire conditions throughout Santa Clarita, according to officials.

Due to Santa Clarita receiving low amounts of rainfall, the vegetation is dryer than normal, and if a fire were to spark it can spread quickly, according to officials with the NWS.

Santa Clarita residents who live in an area prone to brush fires are being urged to have an escape plan ready in the event firefighters order residents to evacuate.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
