Warmer temperatures and an elevated fire risk are expected in the Santa Clarita weather forecast midweek before a 10 degree cool off by the weekend, officials said.
Starting Tuesday, we are expecting temperatures to be about 10 degrees warmer than Monday, with the heat lasting through Thursday, said Kathy Hoxsie, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
“Not much notable cooling is expected until Friday, and a few more degrees cooler Saturday,” Hoxsie said.
Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to high 90s Tuesday through Thursday, according to Hoxsie.
By Friday temperatures are expected to be around 84 degrees and 81 by Saturday.
Despite temperatures heating up, winds are not expected to be a threat for fire, according to officials.
There is still an elevated fire risk in place due to the heat and brush still being dry, however, due to the lack of wind, no red flag warnings are in place, Hoxsie said.
