Ryu Looking Like The Cy Young Winner As Dodgers Win Series Over Mets

Hyun-Jin Ryu only needed a run to pick up his National League leading eighth win of the season on Thursday. The Dodgers gave him an extra one in the eighth inning after he pitched 8 2/3 innings of shutout baseball.

The Dodgers finished off the Mets on Thursday in relatively easy fashion (2-0 win), thanks to the 2019 dominance of Ryu. He dropped his ERA to a filthy 1.48, far and away the best in all of baseball. Through the first 57 games of the year, Hyun-Jin Ryu is the Nationial League Cy Young winner.

Los Angeles moved to 38-19 as they prepare for a weekend series at Dodger Stadium with Philadelphia. The Phillies are 17-12 in the month of May and 33-23 overall.
