A contract can be defined as “an agreement with specific terms between two or more persons or entities in which there is a promise to do something in return for a valuable benefit known as consideration,” states the California Bail Education textbook.

“Bail contracts help both the bail agent and the client assure that terms will be met by both parties,” said Inessa Chavez, vice president of All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita. “A reputable, licensed bail bonding company will use a contract every time– both for the company’s protection and the client’s.”

Typical components of a contract include an offer, an offer acceptance, a promise to perform, consideration (payment or promise), a timeline for completion, terms and conditions and following through on performance, the textbook states.

A minor is unable to sign an enforceable contract alone, and must have a parent or guardian form the contract as well in order for it to be valid, according to the textbook.

“At All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita, our bail agents will answer any questions you may have about your contract and will explain what you are signing before you sign it,” Chavez said. “We’re available 24/7 to help walk you through the bail bonding process.”
