Angie Vanessian, a bail bonds agent with All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita, was a special guest on the Jan. 22 “Neighborhood Watch”
Below is a transcription of the first part of the show. Make sure to watch the full video to listen to Vanessian, News Director Perry Smith, Deputy Josh Dubin and News Writer Jessica Boyer.
Perry Smith: Welcome back Santa Clarita Valley. We’re here on your “Neighborhood Watch” where twice a (month) we talk about Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station outreach with our guests from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and today, we have a very special guest from our sponsor All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita who is here with us in the studio. Angie Vanessian, thank you for coming by.
Angie Vanessian: Hi. Thank you for having me.
Perry Smith: And also News Writer Jessica “Bombthreat” Boyer.
Jessica Boyer: What up?
Perry Smith: In the studio, today we have Michael Leum from the Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue team. He’s going to be on air later. Sheriff McDonnell is here in town? I heard a rumor that he was in town.
Josh Dubin: How come I didn’t get an introduction?
Everyone, except Dubin, laughs.
Josh Dubin: I didn’t get an introduction.
Jessica Boyer: Everyone just knows who you are.
Josh Dubin: If youre watching this on Youtube, am I even in the frame? Speaking of conspiracies, Kyle.
Perry Smith: I can have Kyle change the orientation of the video so you’re not in the frame, if that’s what you’d like.
Angie Vanessian: I think he wants to be in the frame.
Perry Smith: Wow. Diva, indeed.
Josh Dubin: Perry, prior to the “Neighborhood Watch” here, Kyle was live on the air and he was talking about conspiracies and this is a conspiracy.
Perry Smith: To keep you off the air? Off frame?
Josh Dubin: Yes, you’re trying to hold me down.
Perry Smith: Are the lines lighting up? Do we have any complains? No? Nobody? Okay. So anyways…
Josh Dubin: I hate you.
Perry Smith: We’d like to talk about a lot of crime stories in our valley. I’d like to update everybody about one of our top crime stories from last year. It made the list. and that was Josh Dubin, by the way. Deputy Josh Dubin with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit zone person. You don’t have a zone anymore.
Josh Dubin: No.
Perry Smith: But you’re in the Crime Prevention Unit.
Josh Dubin: Yes.
Perry Smith: You’re a king without a kingdom.
Josh Dubin: Well, I wouldn’t go that far.
Perry Smith: Well, I just did.
Josh Dubin: Thank you. You know this is our second show of the new year?
Perry Smith: It is.
Josh Dubin: And it’s already starting out rough.
Perry Smith: It’s shaky, it’s shaky at best. It’s questionable. Ismael Soto was the purse snatching suspect from our top ten crime stories and this criminal mastermind left his wallet at the scene of the purse snatching. We can say that now because he took a no contest plea earlier this week to a second degree robbery charge, misdemeanor battery and oh no, sorry two counts of misdemeanor battery.
Josh Dubin: Is this breaking news?
Perry Smith: Yeah, a little bit.
Jessica Boyer: Was this the guy who was arrested after he stole the purse and dropped his wallet?
Perry Smith: He stole the purse, got into a tussle with the victim and then through that exchange with, I guess would be the result of a battery charge, he left his wallet behind and the witnesses saw then and then reported that to Sheriff’s Station deputies who put out his face on Nixle, which is a service we want to let everyone know about. N-I-X-L-E. Santa Clarita Nixle. Type it into Google and get your Nixle notices. They put out a notice that they were looking for this guy, found him quickly, arrested him, charged him and now he’s being sentenced. So we’ll have that later one. The District Attorney’s office is still trying to figure out..,. he pleaded to three counts.
Josh Dubin: But he has not been sentenced yet.
Perry Smith: He has not been sentenced yet.
