Deputies arrested a pair of car theft suspects in Castaic Friday morning after the couple was found sleeping in the vehicle.

Deputies patrolling Lake Hughes Road Friday found the vehicle parked along the side of the road around 8:40 a.m., and discovered it was reported stolen, said Shirley Miller, a spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

They arrested Michael Magro and Claudia Maturino, both 21, after the pair were found sleeping in the car.

Both were charged with taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. Margo was additionally charged with possession of burglary tools and Maturino was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail was set at $25,000 for Maturino, and $25,250 for Margo. Margo is set to appear in court Feb. 14 for a preliminary hearing. No information on a hearing for Maturino was available Monday.
