On today’s episode of Eye on the Valley, host Matt Watson welcomes Kate Wolf, leader of iLead online charter schools program, to discuss all of the amazing programming SCVi has to offer for its students.

Kate explains how her leadership helps break the stereotypes of online schooling and how iLead’s personalized learning approaches help students get the most out of their education. She also goes over the “tracks”, or flexible school schedules, exclusive to iLead online as well as their engaging elective classes – including but not limited to – Japanese, photography, and many other career readiness courses.

Matt wraps up the first half of the show by highlighting different events happening in the valley this spring. Residents can look forward to events such as The Santa Clarita Kids Fair, The 14th Annual Wine Affair, and the infamous Cowboy Festival.

On the second half, Eye on the Valley introduces Christina Dronen, executive director of Finally Family Homes. Christina opens up her segment by running through her credentials and sharing the exciting news that she is a nominee for Woman of the Year. She then opens up about Finally Family Homes and what their mission for the Santa Clarita Valley is. Finally Family Homes helps foster youth escape generational poverty by providing resources and care to help them achieve independence in adulthood.

The two go further in-depth on what the organization is providing, their favorite success stories, and how their “tiny home” program is providing housing to those that need it.

Lastly, Big T hosts a neck-to-neck trivia contest with “Frogger”, Christina, and engineer, Andrew to end the segment on a fun note.
