Santa Clarita life coach Alex Urbina was live on-air this week on his weekly radio show to talk about getting stuck in life and how to move on without reacting in ways that are not helpful.
According to Alex we all get stuck in life, and some people have a hard time moving on from that.
Alex asks Ellen to think of being stuck, and what that looks like for her.
Ellen says she often gets stuck on an emotion. She feels a certain way and gets stuck on trying to figure out what triggered that emotion.
Alex encourages everyone to look at whatever situation they are in and instead of saying, “Oh no!,” say, “So what?” and “What now?” This mindset encourages people to move on from the current roadblock in their life, and not dwell on it.

A big part of getting stuck is our reactions to life’s curve balls. Some people have big emotional responses, and that can keep you stuck longer.
Ellen says when something happens that triggers a strong emotion she gives herself a temporary, “time out,” from the situation. This allows her to move on from the situation without reacting and allows her to revisit it when she has time to process.
Alex has worked with hundreds of different school districts, community centers, universities and non- profits both with the states and abroad. He takes on a limited number of one-on-one clients per year including couples, coaches, educators and other trainers.
