If you’re looking to try something new in your air fryer, these chicken wings pose a great and crispy option.
As a part of KHTS Recipes in partnership with Just A Pinch, these reduced-guilt air fryer chicken wings are a perfect meal or appetizer to share during the football season.
Ingredients
For this recipe you will need:
For the brine
- 1 qt of water
- ¼ cup of sugar and salt
For the rub
- 1 tsp chili powder and curry powder
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 ½ tsp ground cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp each salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
For the dipping sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp Frank’s hot sauce
Directions
Once you have all the ingredients together, it’s time to make the chicken wings.
Begin by getting the chicken wings and cutting the tips of the wings and cut between the joints.
Soak the wings in brine for at least one hour.
Remove the wings from the brine and pat dry.
Put aside a teaspoon of the rub. Sprinkle the rub you’ve made on both sides of the chicken wings.
Use two tablespoons of flour and mix it into the remaining rub.
Sprinkle the flour mix onto the wings for a light dusting of flavored flour.
Spray your air fryer tray with non-stick spray and layer the wings. Cook on 370 for 15 minutes, flip the wings and cook for another 15 minutes.
Plate the wings with dipping sauce and you’ve made the perfect crispy wings with fewer calories for the whole family to enjoy.
