Another Speed Deterrent Shows Up in the SCV

The portable trailers that display “YOUR SPEED” And a digital readout of your radar-recorded speed will be seen much more around the SCV….

The City of Santa Clarita has recently passed an ordinance that allows private companies to deploy these signs.  This is just another step in the effort to make the drive in Santa Clarita a safer one by getting drivers to slow down, statistically resulting in a reduction in severity and number of accidents.

These devices are in high demand, and prior to this recent ordinance passage, the city only owned one unit.

It might have been handy to have had a unit placed on Newhall Ranch Road Tuesday morning….  In an unrelated story, the Signal reports that a 20-year-old SImi Valley motorcyclist was pulled over and booked on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and resisting arrest.  The driver was seen speeding at 110 miles per hour on Newhall Ranch Road.
