Men Sought in Parking Lot Attack

Sheriff’s detectives are searching for two magazine solicitors who attacked two teenage girls in a Valencia shopping center parking lot…     The 17-year-old victims were traumatized when two “brazen” men fondled them Monday while pitching magazine subscriptions in the River Oaks Shopping Center, a detective from the Career Offender Burglary Robbery Apprehension Unit said.
The two men told the girls they were students at San Diego State University while asking them for dates and phone numbers. One suspect hugged, kissed and pinched one victim while the second man asked the other victim to disrobe as he was pinching her. The teens were not physically injured.
The victims told detectives that when they tried to get away, the men blocked their paths until one submitted personal information for the subscription.
A COBRA detective investigating the crime said magazine sales personnel are recruited throughout the country to travel to different locations in vans and live out of cheap motels.
Target employees told detectives they had seen suspects roaming the parking lot near the store as early as July 3.
The men are described as 19 to 20 years old, 5 feet 10 inches, 130 to 160 pounds. One suspect has a prominent tattoo of an Italian flag on his right shoulder.
Anyone who has come in contact with the suspects is asked to call COBRA detectives at 799-5156.
