Castaic RV Owner Arrested On Drug, Warrant Charges

A woman was arrested in Castaic Sunday morning on multiple warrant and drug charges after deputies located an RV during routine patrols, officials said.

On Sunday, deputies were patrolling on Castaic Road when they spotted an RV parked by the side of the road, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“They pulled over to check to see if anyone was inside,” she said.

When deputies knocked on the door, a woman answered and told deputies her RV had broken down. She also told deputies she had a warrant out for her arrest.

“The woman was somewhat correct, deputies found that she had a warrant in the system,” Miller said. “As a matter of fact, she had two warrants out for her arrest in the amount of $50,000 and $40,000.”

Both warrants were issued on narcotics charges, according to officials.

Sheriff’s officials say the woman was still evidently involved with narcotics activity as deputies recovered a few meth pipes from her RV.

The Kori Powers, 22, was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station where bail was set at $91,250, according to arrest records.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
