Construction for a Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton is underway near the original Oakmont of Santa Clarita off of Newhall Ranch Road in Valencia, officials confirmed.

A five-story hotel that would provide two separate brands within a single hotel structure, including a 78-room Hampton Inn and a 107-room Homewood Inn and Suites, is currently under construction, according to David Peterson, assistant planner for the City of Santa Clarita.

The 124,000-square-foot hotel structure is located on Newhall Ranch Road between Rye Canyon Road and Vanderbilt Way.

Officials say that the project would “expand and enhance opportunities for business travelers and tourists in Santa Clarita. This, in turn, will serve to provide additional business-to-business interaction, including the interaction with businesses within and beyond the local region, and foot traffic for local retailers, services, events and attractions,” according to City documents.

Both Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton are managed by Hilton Worldwide, a multinational hospitality company that owns over 5,700 properties in 113 countries and territories, according to the company’s website.

Officials were unable to confirm the approximate time of completion of the two hotels as of Monday afternoon.
