Deputies Investigate Burglary Of Multiple Santa Clarita Businesses

On Thursday night multiple Santa Clarita businesses were broken into, prompting deputies to launch an investigation into the string of burglaries.

On May 11, five businesses in the Valencia area were broken into during the early hours of the night, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Department.

The first break in was reported at 1:30 a.m. on the 27000 block of McBean Parkway. A business’s exterior glass door was shattered and security footage confirmed that two men in masks and hoodies broke the door and ransacked the business.

Approximately $30 in miscellaneous U.S. coins was stolen, according to Arriaga.

An hour later at 2:30 a.m. a business on the 28000 block of Newhall Ranch Road was broken into when the suspects smashed the front window. Approximately $139 was stolen from a cash register and a safe with $500.

At the same time on the 27000 block of Newhall Ranch Road, $750 and an Apple laptop were stolen from another business.

The trend continued 30 minutes later at 3 a.m. where a man broke a glass door to a business and is seen entering and exiting the building. He is described as an adult man wearing pants, long sleeve shirts and full face cover, according to Arriaga.

Nothing was stolen from that location.

The next and last call went out hours later at 7:20 a.m. on the 27000 block of Newhall Ranch Road where deputies were told by security that the glass door had been shattered. About $1,500 were stolen, according to Arriaga.

“No arrests made.  The investigation remains ongoing,” stated Arriaga.

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
