Deputy Injured, Suspect Arrested Following Deputy-Involved Fight In Santa Clarita

One person was arrested and treated for injuries after being suspected of assaulting a police officer who was also injured on Saturday in Stevenson Ranch.

The incident occurred around noon on Saturday on the sidewalk near The Old Road and Stevenson Ranch Parkway when a deputy noticed a man arguing with a woman suspected to be his mother, according to Lieutenant Dimitry Barkon with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The suspect began throwing items into traffic, prompting the deputy to attempt a detainment, according to Barkon.

“The deputy tried to detain the suspect and a use of force occurred,” said Barkon. “The deputy was injured.”

More units were called to the scene and the suspect was arrested and treated for his injuries. According to Barkon both the deputy and the suspect are in the hospital for injuries.

“There is an investigation into whether mental illness may be involved,” said Barkon regarding the cause of the incident.

The incident is still under investigation and the injuries sustained by the deputy and suspect are not known as of 2 p.m.

  1. Mental Illness, Ya think so? Build more Mental & jail facilities to keep decent taxpayers safe! We have lots of low cost deserts to build more to keep the decent public safe! Stop the Liberal insanity!

    • What do you really think that this guy was a threat to anyone? Well I doubt it, this was the cops doing what they love, beating the hell out of someone… Anyone! Wait it can and hopefully will happen to you or someone you love. The cops of today are just a bunch of young punks living in such a distorted reality with no consequences for anything they do. They make the laws up as they go. For the most part they are the ones we need protection from. It’s just a job..a nine to five job nothing else they are not elected into the job and most of them are bigger scumbags than the ones they are beating the crap out of. People think they are great and honest people who are there to help and want to make the world a better place…… Well I say pull your head out of your a&& and join the real world. Just take a look at a few videos and you will get the picture, or not but that’s okay because you will be safe and sound with no worry’s cause you have the police on your side… Good luck with that one buddy

  2. So you think there is something to be said about restructuring/retraining the police force? I agree.
What do we do about the “patriotic” signs in front yards that say “We support the police”? Are they saying that to admit changes need to be made is somehow wrong and unAmerican? Geez Louise!

  3. Kevin, Ann & Alice in Wonderland—-These are Real everyday occurrences that LE encounter! How about restructuring/retraining Supposed Adults?! How would you like to drive by for your Bobas, Vegan Food, Starbucks in your Pink Smart/Car/Precious Prius and having something thrown at your windshield at 40 MPH(speed limit 50)?! After you were through whining/crying, what would you do—-call DA Gas-Con?! Wake up, not Woke Up, condoning bad lifestyles is not decent or American!! Support signs for the LE are wonderful support signs against the constant onslaught from the Anti-American Liberals/BLM/CCP/Antifa Demons ruining every city in America!! Facts/Truths!!
