Garcia Leads District-Wide ‘Support Our Local Police’ Event

As a part of his monthly service project initiative, Congressman Mike Garcia (R-Santa Clarita) hosted a district-wide “Support Our Local Police” Event on Saturday.

“We want to give them a little sense of love, motivation and support from the community. Just our way of thanking our law enforcement because they’re the ones who provide use with security,” Garcia said Saturday.

Volunteers participated in supplying grab-and-go snacks to local law enforcement officers in the 25th district.

Deliveries were made to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Santa Clarita Valley Station, Antelope Valley Station and the Simi Valley Police Department.

To get involved in these Saturday service projects, people can visit Garcia’s website and sign up to receive notifications on upcoming events.

“We’re thinking of new things every month and are open to ideas. This is all volunteer driven,” said Garcia.

Next month’s service project is expected to be a redecorating and clean-up of a rescue center and shelter for animals.
