Several people were arrested over the weekend after taking items from Vista Valencia Golf Course, including one who allegedly drove off with a golf cart, officials said.

Before 4 p.m. Saturday, deputies received reports that a man had stolen a golf cart from the Vista Valencia Golf Course on the 24700 block of Trevion Drive in Valencia, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“There was a report of a person who was driving southbound out of the golf course,” Miller said. “The informant saw the suspect driving on the course without any golf clubs.”

After finding the stolen cart in the nearby wash, deputies arrested 30-year-old Robert Alonso, a transient, on felony charges of allegedly taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, according to arrest logs.

Deputies found a nearby encampment in the riverbed, with multiple stolen items from the golf course, including batteries, cables and a table, according to Miller.
