Non-Santa Clarita Residents Make Up Majority Of Weekend Arrests

A majority of the suspects arrested by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers over the weekend were not residents of the city, coming from different nearby valleys.

Out of the 18 suspects booked into the SCV Sheriff’s station this weekend, 10 of those people have home addresses listed to be in other cities including Inglewood, Moorpark, Sacramento, Palmdale, Merced, Lancaster, California City, Salinas and Canoga Park.

Among these 10 people the charges against them vary from DUI to battery against a spouse.

Of the 18 people arrested, two were arrested for public intoxication, and five were arrested for DUIs.

Two suspects were arrested for battery or assault on a spouse and one man from Sylmar was arrested on charges of murder.

Other charges this weekend include indecent exposure and burglary.

  1. Common self driving cars!!! We’re not going to have anymore DUI accidents or arrests if this technology ever takes off. At 59 I’m certain I’m only 10 years away from not being able to drive even without a drink.

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
