Gabriel Zamora, 22, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after the alleged fight with a 60-year-old man.

Deputies arrived on scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday night, responding to a report that two men, Zamora and his alleged victim, were out of their cars having a verbal argument that turned violent due to a road rage situation.

“During a verbal argument, the younger man punched the older man,” said Lt. Hahnlein, Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station. “This caused the younger man to then jump on top of the older man and continue to strike him while on the ground.”

The alleged road rage incident, near the intersection of Bouquet Canyon Road and Newhall Ranch Road, impeded traffic and resulted in deputies and medical personnel being called to the scene.
