National Weather Service (NWS) officials confirmed Friday Santa Clarita residents can anticipate mostly clear weather and temperatures reaching the low to mid-80s through early next week.
Santa Clarita residents can prepare for more warm spring weather reaching the low to mid-80s, accompanied by inland winds of up to 20 mph this weekend, according to NWS officials.
“We’re currently experiencing a ridge of high-pressure Sunday through Monday,” said NWS Meteorologist Ryan Kittell.
Weekend temperatures are expected to peak Sunday, April 7, with highs around 80 degrees, and northwest winds reaching 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
“Northerly winds should increase by Saturday night and Sunday, and persist for a good part of the week,” said Kittell. “Those winds tend to dry things out.”
Santa Clarita skies are also expected to be partly cloudy during the beginning of the week.
“Northerly winds will last until at least through Wednesday night and the strongest will be on Tuesday,” said Kittell. “They’ll probably be a stronger 20 to 30 mph.”
The weather is expected to be mostly clear by midweek, at which point average temperatures are expected to drop back into the low- to mid-70s.
