Soroptimist Fashion Show Announces FIDM Executive As Keynote Speaker

Soroptimist of Greater Santa Clarita Valley recently announced its keynote speaker for the 8th annual Red Carpet Runway Fashion Show and Boutique set for next month.

Barbara Bundy, vice president of FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising), is scheduled to make an appearance as the event’s keynote speaker.

Bundy has been a speaker for FIDM, as well as the fashion and apparel industry, at events all over the world, according to Soroptimist officials.

“Her stories inspire anyone who loves fashion, and especially those who dream of having a career in the fashion world,” said officials in a statement.

This year’s theme is “Red Carpet Runway,” featuring a fashion show in addition to a showcase boutique displaying local Westfield brands, specialty retailers and boutiques, according to event officials.

“An exciting element has been added to this year’s event, a Red Carpet Runway makeover,” said officials.

The Red Carpet Runway makeover winner will be “beautified” before and during the event and featured at the finale.

Raffle tickets for a chance to win a Red Carpet Runway makeover are $20 each and tickets to the event are $85.  Both can be purchased here.

Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that improves the lives of women and girls, according to the group.

The organization’s main program, Live Your Dream Education and Training Awards for Women, has disbursed about $30 million to almost 20,000 women since 1972, according to their website.

The event is scheduled to be held on Sunday, Nov. 18 at the Valencia Hyatt, located at 24500 Town Center Dr.
