Cool weather is finally here, but that also means rattlesnakes are among us.

To help keep our pets safe, Dr. Jaimie Ronchetto at Cinema Veterinary Centre is recommending a vaccine that can save your pets from the deadly venom the snakes carry in their bite.

This vaccine has the ability to allow you more time to be seen by a vet, and although it won’t block the venom directly, your pet wouldn’t have severe symptoms and would recover faster with the vaccine in their systems.

This vaccine isn’t required by law, but is highly recommended, especially to the furry friends that live in the desert, like Santa Clarita. The only vaccine required by law for pets is the Rabies vaccine, as Rabies can be very deadly. Other vaccines Dr. Jaimie Ronchetto suggests for pet owners are the parvo shots, and the vaccines for leptospirosis and canaan influenza as these two are on the rise.

Cinema Vet is under some construction as of right now, but are taking pets and owners curbside and will accommodate patients as they are still practicing COVID-safe protocols.

‘Tis the season for cold and flus for pet owners so it’s best to protect each other and our furry friends this upcoming winter as well.
