A 14 Freeway pursuit came through the northeast corner of Santa Clarita Wednesday evening after originating in Palmdale.
Just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, officials with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station were notified that a pursuit originating from Palmdale was coming southbound on the 14 Freeway.
“We took it over from Sheriff’s,” said Officer Elizabeth Kravig with the California Highway Patrol Traffic Management Center. “It was near Agua Dulce.”
The suspect reportedly exited on Soledad Canyon Road before traveling eastbound through the northeast section of Santa Clarita and getting back on the 14 Freeway, only this time heading north.
Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were unable to confirm the exact nature of the original call. However, initial reports indicate that the suspect may have allegedly assaulted a peace officer.
The pursuit ended just off the northbound 14 in Acton, and the suspect was detained just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.
