California State University Northridge (CSUN) officials discovered a letter threatening another act of violence Monday night, marking the third such threat to be discovered in the weeks leading up to final exams.

The hand-written letter was discovered in Redwood Hall at the university, and it threatened violence against both CSUN and the nearby Northridge Academy High School.
“I am writing this to inform the people of CSUN that I will kill everyone on the 12th of December,” reads the letter.

Law enforcement from the CSUN Police and the Los Angeles Police Department investigated throughout the night and into the following morning, according to campus officials. Additional police from partnering agencies along with CSUN Police are set to continue patrolling the campus in the coming days.
“Law enforcement officials continue to believe that there is no imminent threat to campus,” said Dr. Dianne F. Harrison, president of CSUN, in a Facebook post. “We are working to bring any perpetrators of these cowardly acts to justice.”
The letter was discovered following the discovery of two separate threats written on bathroom walls on the CSUN campus.

“Sadly, the world in which we live requires we take threats of violence and expressions of hate seriously – even when there is no evidence to suggest that the threatened acts are likely to materialize,” Harrison said at the time. “The determination by CSUN Police and their law enforcement partners, at this time, remains that this threat is not credible. However, police continue to vigorously investigate.”
One person of interest has been interviewed, but no one has been taken into custody, according to law enforcement officials.
As a result of the threats, CSUN officials have instructed faculty to offer alternative methods to final exams that do not involve going onto campus.
“We recognize that these threats have created an environment where students and other members of our campus community fear for their safety,” Harrison said. “We are instructing all faculty who have examinations on December 12 to provide alternative examination options for their students that would not require students to be physically present on campus Wednesday.”
The CSUN campus is set to remain open on Wednesday. This decision was based on the threat assessment and current information gathered by law enforcement, according to Harrison.
“All of my classmates and I are upset and scared,” said Monica Rodriguez, a Santa Clarita resident majoring in Public Relations at CSUN.
Despite the alternative options offered to students, CSUN student and Santa Clarita resident Steven Estrada believes that a full closure of the campus is warranted in light of the new information.
“I am feeling very anxious to be on campus,” Estrada, said. “I wish the school would do more to make us feel safe.”

Ok These are stupid threats. If that lunatic was serious there would be no warning. Why would someone tell you ahead of time. Maybe because its the day of finals. Too many crazy people out there.
