The final stage of the race took world-class cyclists from the Westfield Valencia Town Center to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
“We welcome all of the riders here to Santa Clarita, and just thank you for being here,” said Mayor Marsha McLean before the start of the race. “We have been doing this since 2007, and we want you back every single year.”
Santa Clarita has hosted more stages of the Amgen Tour of California than any other city in history, with Saturday’s race marking the 14th stage held in the city, according to officials.
People from over 200 countries around the world are estimated to have watched the race, bringing international exposure to Santa Clarita, according to officials.
“It’s absolutely very cool,” McLean said. “I heard our name mentioned many times on the news.”
In addition to the international exposure, city officials say that the Amgen Tour of California brings in an estimated $1 million of economic impact for the city.
“We have our staff working on this for many weeks,” McLean said. “As soon as we learn that we have a stage, we get to work to make sure that it’s all done right, that you all feel welcome here.”

Who ever organized this event, is an idiot. Not sufficient notice of Road Closures. Further, they can not close all major roads in and out. Most ridiculous detours, took me over 45 minutes to get from Walmart to Walgreens on Copperhill. Just need the idiots name who organized this trap.
