The training is set to take place during VIA’s monthly business luncheon at 11:45 a.m. Attendees will learn how to recognize potential workplace violence indicators, the actions to prevent and prepare for potential active shooter incidents and how to manage the consequences of an active shooter incident, according to event officials.

Presenters scheduled for the event include Jenny Ketchepaw, vice president and training manager for Community Bank, and a representative from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Active shooter preparedness is important now more than ever,” relayed Ketchepaw. “While we hope we never have to use the information, the more prepared we are, the better we are in helping our employees, our friends and our families.”

Ketchepaw interacted with law enforcement officials to review Community Bank’s training, emergency plan and active shooter procedures.

“We found that we were one of very few businesses leading the charge in this important area,” Ketchpaw said. “It is our sincere hope that our employees never need to use this training.”

Reservations are required for the event. Tickets are available here, or by calling 661-294-8088.
