Child Dies After Going Into Cardiac Arrest At Stevenson Ranch Grocery Store

The child that went into cardiac arrest Tuesday at a Stevenson Ranch grocery store has died.

Around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, first responders received reports of a child going into cardiac arrest at the Ralphs Grocery Store on the 24900 block of Pico Canyon Road in Stevenson Ranch, according to Geovanni Sanchez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said at the time of the incident.

“The child was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased,” said Brian Elias, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

The child, identified by his mother as “PJ” in an Instagram Post, choked while eating uncut grapes, according to a post by his mother on their Instagram account.

  1. This is so sad, PJ was such an exceptional child. He seemed smart beyond his years and I loved the pictures of him modeling. PJ’s parents did such a fabulous job raising him and using him as a tool to educate others about Bullying. Gone to soon, but I guess God needed him in Heaven. Very inspiring life.

  2. The mother did NOT consent to you using their child’s image. Please respect their pain and privacy at this devastating time and remove this child’s image and name. This is vile and heartless

  3. Please take the post down, the mother is having a hard time as it is dealing with his untimely death and then she says you all did not ask for permission to post the article, please please take it down out of respect.

  4. Did @hometownststion get consent from the parents of the young child who pasted away to run this article and use the photos?

  5. The mom didn’t give permission for you to use his photo. Take down the post.

  6. Your article is not only false but you stole this picture from the family’s page. Disgusting. The mother ,Crystal is telling you repeatedly to take his picture down. You never even asked or tried to get the facts straight. The call was for a choking baby. Not cardiac arrest. Do your job and have a heart

    • Were you not requested to remove this photograph of PJ as it was stolen from the parents Instagram page.. true MSM at it’s best .. heartless and content not factual

  7. Please remove post and picture parents are suffering the lost of their little boy they didn’t give you permission to use their son’s picture this upsets them please have a little respect and let them grieve in peace

  8. Please remove the article/post about the death of the little boy PJ. It’s shameful and disgusting that you posted this, especially with his precious photo without getting permission from his parent(s). Do you have no values or compassion?

  9. PJs family did not give you permission to use or post his photos. Do better!

  10. REMOVE THIS POST AND HIS PHOTO. THIS IS SO IRRESPONISBLE.

  11. Why is this still up? The parents of this child did not give you permission to use this photo or spread false information.

  12. Please have some empathy for the family and remove this article. What you are doing is shameful!

  13. I feel that the reporting you have done on this story is inappropriate, insensitive, and does not promote the health of the community.

Crystal and PJ were public forces for good, so yes, they maintain a public profile. However, not even asking her permission and showing the scene where her son passed away is unimaginably harmful. It is also bad journalism.

You do not even list opportunities to support the family or public resources for dealing with grief.
This is not news; it is a personal story of a grieving family.

You should remove this article and issue an apology to the family.

  14. I am so sorry to hear of your precious loss:(

  15. Why is the childs face and name still up when there have been repeated requests to take it down? Legal action can be taken if you do not remove this Childs name and photo immediately.

  16. For everyone saying the stole this picture of PJ and are exploiting his death how are they doing so? She posts about her son on a public Instagram page and is upset because they are reporting his death? Why not look at it as more exposure to bring awareness to children choking or the illness he lived with?

  17. Very distasteful- take down this post and the photos you do not have permission to use.

Disgusting- a mother in grief and you post the crime scene?
    Sick.

  18. Very distasteful- take down this post and the photos you do not have permission to use.

Disgusting- a mother in grief and you post the crime scene?

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
