This Saturday, the annual tree lighting at Light Up Main Street is taking place in Old Town Newhall for all Santa Clarita residents.
Step onto Main Street in Old Town Newhall this Saturday where residents are transported to the ultimate Winter Wonderland, complete with real snow, a chance to meet Santa and of course, thousands of dazzling lights to create the perfect kickoff to the holiday season.
The City of Santa Clarita is excited to welcome the community to Light Up Main Street, presented by DrinkPAK, in Old Town Newhall on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Light Up Main Street is a holiday event that takes over five blocks on Main Street, featuring food trucks, live entertainment, photo opportunities, kids activities, and holiday shopping. Each year, Main Street is closed all day Saturday to allow for setting up and for small business vendors to set up their booths, encouraging guests to get a start on their holiday shopping.
This Santa Clarita tradition features the highly anticipated Tree Lighting Ceremony, along with holiday festivities to enjoy with family, friends and neighbors during an evening out on Main Street in the City’s premiere Arts and Entertainment District.
Join the Santa Clarita City Council on the Main Stage in front of the Santa Clarita Public Library Old Town Newhall Branch (24500 Main Street) as they lead the countdown to light up the iconic, giant Christmas tree, along with thousands of lights illuminating Main Street and transform Old Town Newhall into a holiday wonderland at 5:30 p.m.
Following the tree lighting, make sure to stop at Veterans Historical Plaza (24275 N. Walnut Street) to experience another special tree paying homage to our Veterans and active-duty military.
In addition to the glistening lights and the Tree Lighting Ceremony, attendees can also enjoy live entertainment and various acts on the Main Stage throughout the event, from carolers to show choirs, with the full schedule as follows:
- 4:00 – 4:20 p.m.: Castaic USD Carolers
- 4:25 – 4:55 p.m.: Innovative Show Choir
- 5:00 – 5:15 p.m.: Canyon Theatre Guild
