Community Rallies To Honor Millie Jones With Bake Sale Fundraiser For Funeral Expenses

To help cover funeral costs for 11-year-old Millie Jones, who passed away after a brave battle with brain cancer, Brooklyn’s Blessings is hosting a fundraiser bake sale in support of the Jones family.

Millie, a Santa Clarita girl whose strength and spirit touched the community, died on July 12, surrounded by loved ones.

Diagnosed just one year ago with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and inoperable form of brain cancer, Millie faced her illness with a joy and resilience that deeply moved everyone around her.

The bake sale is being held Sunday, July 27, at 25300 Via Pacifica from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

All proceeds will go directly toward the family’s funeral expenses as they prepare to lay Millie to rest.

A public memorial service is planned for Thursday, July 31, at 11 a.m. at Higher Vision Church, located at 28776 The Old Road in Valencia. A reception will follow.

“Our home feels different, empty without her laughter, and Zaire misses his best friend terribly,” the Jones family shared, referring to Millie’s younger brother. “But we see Millie everywhere — in the art supplies she left behind, the songs she loved, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.”

A GoFundMe campaign also remains active to help the family with expenses. As of Thursday, the fundraiser had raised over $7,600 of its $10,000 goal.

“Though our arms ache to hold her, we’re grateful for every moment we had with our remarkable girl,” the family wrote. “Millie’s legacy of love will continue to shine through all who knew her.”
