Consumers Furniture Gallery Bids Farewell To Santa Clarita After 43 Years Of Business

After more than 43 years, family-owned Consumers Furniture Gallery in Santa Clarita is set to close its doors for one last time.

Consumers Furniture Gallery first opened in 1978, under the control of the father and uncle of current owner Greg Moser, only a few blocks away from its modern-day location.

“We started off as a small little oak store back in 1978 and then we grew, over the years, into a full line furniture store,” Moser said. “Everything from mattresses, sofas and all kinds of bedroom and dining room sets.”

Consumers Furniture Gallery plans to remain open for the next few months until all the inventory is cleared out, with markdowns of 30-50%, according to Moser.

“We’ve got so many people coming in to tell us that they’ll miss us,” Moser said. “But we just thought it was the right time to retire.”

Moser and his parents plan to continue living in the Santa Clarita Valley and keep giving back to the community and supporting local nonprofits, just as they have done over the last several decades.

“I want to thank the Santa Clarita community, we feel that they’ve been such a big support for our business for all these years, and we certainly cannot have stayed in business without them,” Moser said.

Consumers Furniture has been a KHTS sponsor since owners Jeri Seratti-Goldman and Carl Goldman first purchased the radio station in 1990.

“We’ve known Clem, Mary and Greg for thirty-two years. Consumers Furniture has been an institution in Santa Clarita and the Moser Family has been a part of the fabric of our valley that makes Santa Clarita so special. Unlike the big box stores that have moved in as Santa Clarita has grown, the Mosers’ are stellar examples of how we can not only successfully operate a business, but also add financial and personal resources back into our community.

It is a rare occurrence when we run into someone who has not made a purchase at Consumers Furniture over the years. It will be sad to see an iconic business closing, but we are smiling knowing Consumer Furniture furnishings will continue to decorate tens of thousands of Santa Clarita homes.

The Moser Family will continue to live in Santa Clarita and continue to spread their warmth and positive impact for many more years. While they will no longer continue to be a KHTS sponsor, Clem, Mary, and Greg will continue to remain our good friends,” the Goldmans wrote.
