Dangling Carrot Confections celebrated it’s fully operational business with a grand opening Friday, inviting residents to try a variety of specialty treats.

The freshly opened shop comes from co-owners Scott and Andrea Niner with Marlene Garcia.

“Andrea and Scott own Dangling Carrot Creative, which is a graphic company,” Garcia said. “I’ve been doing cakes for (Scott) a really long time, so we teamed up together to make Dangling Carrot Confections.”

While the two Dangling Carrot businesses share ownership and partial titles, the two are said to be separate. Dangling Carrot Confections offers the public a taste of what co-owner and head baker Marlene Garcia has to offer.

Dangling Carrot Confections offers coffee, milkshakes, cookies, brownies and specialty cupcakes from scratch daily.

All of the confectioner’s baking is done from scratch daily, according to Garcia. Baked goods unsold at the end of the day are reportedly donated.

While the menu is static, Dangling Carrot Confections does offer rotating monthly and weekly specialty cupcakes and milkshakes, Garcia said.

In addition to the bakery, Dangling Carrot Confections offers Maty Lou’s Gourmet Popcorn. A corner of the kitchen is reserved for the production of gourmet popcorn, according to Scott Niner.

Attendees of the grand opening indulged in free samples, along with raffle prizes, face painting and a performance from a magician.

Dangling Carrot Confections’ grand opening is scheduled to run all weekend with extended operating hours. The shop is located at 18836 Soledad Canyon Rd.
