A dog who went missing following a rollover crash on the 5 Freeway last month has been found after hundreds of community members rallied online to help find her.
Around 10:20 a.m. on April 19, a three-vehicle crash was reported on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of the 14 Freeway interchange, according to Nicolas Prange, spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

There were four patients in total, two in critical condition, and two in “fair” condition, said Prange.
In the midst of the crash, a female dog from one of the vehicles – named Ari – ran off, possibly towards the nearby Roxford exit.
When Lorena Zeballos heard about the incident, she jumped in right away. Zeballos runs the Facebook page “All Animal Search and Rescue Team,” a Southern California-based group that aims to reunite lost pets with their owners, as well as to get those animals safely off the street.
“When I found out the owner was in the hospital, I jumped on it on day one,” Zeballos said.
A Facebook page was set up to help spread the word, and within days hundreds of people were reaching out, according to officials. Hundreds of flyers were distributed, and two people even donated three day’s worth of time with a drone to help find Ar.
“I didn’t expect so many people, so many prayers, so much positive energy. It was amazing,” Zeballos said. “I was speechless.”

On Tuesday night, almost two weeks after Ari initially went missing, Zeballo and Ari’s owners received a call telling them that Ari had been spotted on private property down off of Foothill Boulevard. Zeballo headed down to search for the missing canine, eventually finding her as they drove.
“As soon as she saw the car, she bolted and went under a fence,” Zeballo said.
Ari had run off onto property owned by the Department of Water and Power, but Zeballos was determined to get her back. She set up a camera and a human trap for Ari outside the fence, and waited. An hour later, Ari was safely back with Zeballos.
Now, Zeballos is taking Ari to an 11 a.m. veterinarians appointment to address a few wounds Ari sustained during the time that she was missing.
Zeballos is also asking the community to rally one more time to help raise funds to cover veterinarian expenses, as well as a new collar, leash, and a trip back home.
