Extremely Quirky Destinations For SCV Families: The Las Vegas Sphere

Santa Clarita families looking to shake up their usual weekend routine may want to head to Las Vegas to experience The Wizard of Oz at the Sphere.

The Sphere is the latest location featured in the 143rd installment of the KHTS Extremely Quirky Destinations for SCV Families series.

While the Sphere hosts multiple concerts throughout the year, featuring artists such as the Backstreet Boys, the Eagles, Kenny Chesney, and more, the standout and most unique experience coming in 2026 is The Wizard of Oz.

When watching the film at the Sphere, guests won’t just be observing Dorothy travel down the Yellow Brick Road. Instead, the experience makes viewers feel as though they are entering the movie itself and walking alongside the cast.

According to the Sphere’s website, “the experience fills Sphere’s 16,000-square-foot interior display plane, which wraps up, over, and around the audience to create a fully immersive visual environment.”

With 167,000 programmable speakers capable of directing sound anywhere within the venue, the film’s score has been re-recorded to deliver enhanced clarity.

The experience also includes multi-sensory 4D elements such as high-velocity wind arrays, atmospheric fog, towering fire bursts, and infrasound haptic seats to further immerse viewers.

Beyond the movie itself, guests can choose from several ticket options, including standard admission, group tickets, and VIP experiences.

For VIP guests, there are two premium options: the Good Witch Premium Experience and the Bad Witch Ultimate VIP Experience.

The Good Witch Premium Experience includes:

  • Expedited entry
  • Premium seating
  • A digital ticket that includes a merchandise/food voucher and a beverage voucher

The Bad Witch Ultimate VIP Experience includes:

  • Expedited entry
  • Exclusive access to the Delta Sky360 Club prior to the film, featuring complimentary custom-themed food and beverages available only in the lounge
  • Premium seating
  • Merchandise, food, and beverage vouchers
  • A complimentary VIP-exclusive limited-edition The Wizard of Oz at Sphere poster
  • Behind-the-scenes access to original film treasures, including the iconic Ruby Slippers

Group tickets (for nine or more guests) include:

  • A dedicated group specialist
  • Preferred group pricing
  • Reserved seating blocks
  • Options ideal for social gatherings and corporate outings

Outside of the Sphere, Las Vegas visitors can also explore a new activation at The Venetian Resort’s Waterfall Atrium, celebrating The Wizard of Oz at the Sphere. The activation is free and open to the public through August 2026.
