Santa Clarita’s premier choral group, the Santa Clarita Master Chorale, is set to host three virtual holiday concerts and events this winter.
“The holidays are the time for concerts, for singing and celebrating with family and friends – pandemic or not,” said Allan Petker, the artistic director of the Santa Clarita Master Chorale. “We are so excited to be able to safely share the spirit of the season with our community.”
Prompted by the success of their fall concert on Oct. 11, the chorale is set to present “When You Believe,” a virtual holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. featuring soloists, archive clips from past holiday concerts and interviews with special guest and composer Mark Hayes.
The concert is free, though donations of $25 or more are encouraged in an effort to support the choir.
Additionally, the chorale has partnered with the Santa Clarita Ballet to create the “Messiah Sing and Dance Along” on Dec. 20 at 4 p.m. The concert includes the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah, with the Santa Clarita ballet dancing to the chorus movements. Footage of the rehearsals and efforts to put together the show is also expected to be shown.
This concert is also free, though a donation of $10 or more is appreciated.
The chorale is also expected to introduce “Carol-O-Gram,” a special that allows for a quartet of selected singers from the Santa Clarita Master Chorale to record a virtual personalized Holiday greeting card from the buyer to a person or persons of their choosing.
This offer starts with $100 donations, and for $200 the chorale will customize the greeting for up to five people, and up to 10 people for $350.
