Scott Schauer Announces Candidacy For Santa Clarita Community College District Area 2

Scott Schauer officially launched his campaign for the Santa Clarita Community College District Area 2 in front of a packed room of enthusiastic supporters.

“I’ve watched as our community college has started from its core mission, and I can no longer stand by while opportunities for our students are compromised by the incumbent. It’s time to bring back transparency, accountability, and a focus on providing the best possible education for every student,” said Schauer during his campaign launch.

A dedicated community member and advocate for education, Schauer is running because he and many others believe the college board is steering the district in the wrong direction.

Schauer’s campaign is focused on reversing this trend by enhancing educational opportunities, increasing access to quality education, and rebuilding trust through a strong commitment to transparency and accountability.

Schauer’s campaign centers on three key priorities:

  • Enhancing Educational Opportunities: Expanding programs and resources that provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in today’s world.
  • Increasing Access to Quality Education: Ensuring all students, regardless of background, have the opportunity to pursue higher education and reach their full potential.
  • Rebuilding Trust with the Community: Committing to transparent decision-making and open communication to restore confidence in the college board.

With a clear vision for the future, Schauer is eager to work alongside the community to ensure the Santa Clarita Community College District serves as a beacon of educational excellence.

Schauer invites residents to join his campaign and help drive the positive change needed for the district’s future.

  1. I think Scott will make an excellent Trustee for the College of the Canyons. He has a good heart and a good mind. He has the kind of business and budgeting skills that are vital to governing both private and public organizations. Not many candidates or current Trustees bring that valuable asset to the college. I fully support Scott for this important role, and I trust he will give it the best he has for the good of everyone.

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
