Santa Clarita Freelance Designer Starts Promotion Donating Masks For Each One Sold

Santa Clarita freelance designer, Brianna Helton, has started to sell handmade protective masks through her website, and for each mask sold, she donates a mask to someone in need.

“I knew that during this time, it is hard on everyone, so I wanted to do what I know best, and that is creating and sewing,” said Helton. “It is a passion of mine, so if I’m able to help others while doing it, then I am very grateful to be able to contribute.”

The donated masks are expected to go to those most impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, including front line workers, first responders, essential workers, the elderly and others, according to Helton.

Dozens of patterns available and some models feature unique materials which she has labeled “fashion masks.”

“I had a ton of fabric lying around from previous projects and being in school that I knew I could put to good use,” Helton said. My mother-in-law also contributed a bunch of fabric that she had to help with donations.”

So far, Helton has sold 100 masks, and the accompanying 100 donated masks are expected to go out this week, according to Helton.

The standard masks are $10 and the fashion masks are $15; however, she is also offering a pair of promotional codes.

Two standard masks can be ordered for $15 with the code 2FOR15, while two fashion masks comes to $25 with the code 2FOR25.

The masks are available to purchase through Helton’s website, here, and other examples have been shared via her Instagram, @briannaheltondesigns.
