17-Year-Old Arrested In Santa Clarita For Jumping On Sheriff’s Vehicle

A 17-year-old was arrested for vandalism Friday, after he allegedly was jumping on a police car at the Westfield Valencia Town Center in Santa Clarita.

Around 4:15 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to the Westfield Valencia Town Center Mall on the 24200 block of Valencia Boulevard regarding approximately 10 juveniles reportedly attempting to open a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station Department (LASD) patrol vehicle as well as jumping on the car, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station

“Upon arrival, deputies observed a male juvenile matching a suspect description and detained him pending investigation,” Arriaga said.

During the deputies’ investigation, they learned the teen detained was observed jumping on a LASD patrol vehicle along with several other unidentified juveniles, Arriaga said.

The 17-year-old was arrested for vandalism, Arriaga added.

The suspect, who remains unidentified to the public due to his age, was booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station and subsequently released into the custody of his legal guardian on citation, according to Arriaga.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
