An alleged drug dealer was arrested in Santa Clarita on Tuesday and later released on a citation.
Around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy patrolling the 23000 block of Valencia Boulevard in Valencia conducted a traffic stop after locating a stolen vehicle, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Deputies immediately detained the male pending a stolen vehicle investigation,” Arriaga said.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located various amounts of methamphetamine and contraband similar for use of sales of narcotics, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Jose Salinas, 41, from Porter Ranch, was ultimately arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sales and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, both felonies, Arriaga added.
Salinas was booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and subsequently released on citation to appear in court on a later date, according to Arriaga.
