Canyon Country Robbery Suspects Wanted After Theft With Knife

An undisclosed number of suspects are still at large following a robbery near the Aquatic Center in Canyon Country Saturday.

At approximately 5:10 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 20800 block of Centre Pointe Parkway to a robbery call, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The victim was reportedly hiking in the hills in the area with a group when an undisclosed number of suspects allegedly took his backpack by force.

“The victim reported that one the suspects had a small knife,” Miller said.

The suspects are still outstanding, according to Miller. Few other details have been made available to the public, as officials do not want to compromise the ongoing investigation.

“It’s still early on in the investigation,” Miller said.

However, officials did say that the suspects were, “not completely unknown” to detectives. Additionally, the suspects allegedly may have also have been part of the hiking group, according to officials.

The public is encouraged to call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121.
