A Canyon Country woman was arrested the day before her birthday last week after she broke into a vacant apartment.

Just after 3 a.m. Friday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 18400 block of Jakes Way in Canyon Country regarding a trespassing call, according to Deputy Kabrina Borbon, spokesperson for the Station.

“It was reported that two adults were in a vacant unit,” Borbon said.

Deputies detained an adult woman at the vacant apartment, and discovered that she had broken into the location, according to Borbon.

“She also was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia,” Borbon noted.

A Canyon Country resident, Monique Alamillo was arrested and spent her 36th birthday at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
