The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has declined to file charges against a Santa Clarita man who allegedly poisoned his roommates’ food and groceries over an extended period of time.
Back on Feb. 24, 2025, Timothy Bradbury was arrested for allegedly poisoning his roommates’ food and groceries in their Saugus home.
David and Billy Sonhopper, the couple who share a home with Bradbury, told deputies they became suspicious after experiencing unexplained health issues in the beginning of the year.
“I’ve been healthy my entire life, right? So when I noticed I was getting chest pains … and it started in my stomach … Just weird things that don’t naturally happen for me ever,” David told KHTS in a previous article.
As the months went on, the couple discovered damning video footage that was captured.
Security video inside their home shows a man wearing gloves and a gas mask, alleged to be Bradbury, spraying what appears to be Raid insect killer onto food and groceries on Oct. 10, 2025, and Dec. 20, 2025.
“It took us a long time to find the video, but when we found it, we found it twice,” Billy told KHTS in February. “He was spraying stuff all over our groceries, our food, our vegetables, our coffee cup, and our whole pantry full of all of our chips and our cereal, all of our cans and spices. Everything, he sprayed it all over everything.”
The couple reported developing serious medical conditions, including liver and heart complications, and said doctors told them their symptoms were consistent with possible poisoning.
After capturing the footage, deputies were called to their Saugus home on the 28800 block of Cedar Ridge Court on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, to take a report.
The following day Bradbury returned to the home, prompting deputies to return. The situation escalated into Bradbury barricading himself, which eventually ended with his arrest after an hour-long standoff.
During a search warrant, investigators located and took a can of Raid insect killer as evidence.
However, this week, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office declined to file charges against Bradbury, Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station confirmed.
Officials say the reasoning is due to insufficient evidence.
The Sonhoppers are disappointed by the decision but plan to continue court proceedings for their current restraining and no-contact orders against Bradbury, as well as on an additional case involving Bradbury’s previous landlord.
“Maybe we can finally move on with our lives and not be deterred by Timothy,” David said.
