Human Remains Found Alongside 5 Freeway In Valencia

Human remains were found alongside the 5 Freeway in Valencia Monday afternoon by Caltrans contractors.

Around 1 p.m. Monday, the Los Angeles Communications Center (LACC) received a call from a Caltrans contracted employee reporting they located human remains on the hillside adjacent to the right shoulder area of southbound 5 Freeway south of Valencia Boulevard, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office.

“Upon arriving at the scene, Newhall Area units located what appears to be a human skull,” Greengard said.

The southbound off ramp of Valencia Boulevard was closed for the investigation.

The coroner responded and this investigation is on going, according to Greengard.

  1. The “corner” responded?
First of all it’s Coroner. Secondly, L.A. County doesn’t have a Coroner anymore. It’s a Medical Examiner’s Office now. Be a news source, get your fact straight.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
