A man was arrested for allegedly stalking his ex-wife and their daughter two weeks ago after he violated a restraining order.

On Thursday, July 7,  deputies responded to the 27500 block of Sierra Highway in Canyon Country regarding a domestic violence restraining order violation, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that at approximately 5:30 p.m.that evening, the victim’s former spouse had violated a restraining order, while also approaching their daughter outside the victim’s residence, according to Arriaga. 

“The suspect has also been reported to physically assault the victim multiple times in the past and repeatedly follow her,” Arriaga said. 

On July 14, a full week later,  SCV deputies with the Crime Impact Team located the suspect at a residence on the 13000 block of Dronefield Boulevard in Sylmar and arrested him without incident, according to Arriaga.

Gabriel Gutierrez, 39, of Sylmar was booked for stalking and violation of a restraining order and remains in custody as of Monday.
