The cause of death has been revealed for U.S. Senator Mitt Romney’s sister-in-law, who was found dead in a parking garage in Valencia in October.
Carrie Romney, 64, died by suicide, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office website.
She was killed by “blunt traumatic injuries,” per the L.A. County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Around 8:25 p.m. Friday, October 10, Romney was found dead at the bottom of a five-storey apartment parking structure on the 24500 block of Town Center Drive in Valencia. Her vehicle was later discovered parked in the structure.
No foul play was suspected in her death at the time, according to an October statement from Lt. Daniel Vizcarra, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau.
Carrie Romney was married to former presidential hopeful Mitt Romney’s older brother, George Scott Romney, on November 26, 2016. On June 10, 2025, George Scott Romney filed for divorce due to “irreconcilable differences.”
