A Saugus man was arrested on felony charges of vehicle burglary after allegedly stealing items from a vehicle in Castaic early Friday morning, officials said.
At around 3:25 a.m. Friday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 28000 block of Cascade Road in Castaic after receiving reports of a possible burglary, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.
“The victim saw the suspect in his vehicle,” Miller said. “When the victim walked towards the suspect, the suspect stepped out of the car.”
When deputies arrived on scene, they found that the suspect, 29-year-old Robert Donathan, was reportedly in possession of several items from the victim’s vehicle, according to Miller.
Donathan was arrested on felony charges of vehicle burglary. He was transported to and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, where bail was set at $20,000.
