A man wanted for sexual assault out of Idaho was arrested after a brief 5 Freeway pursuit in Castaic on Friday. 

Around 2:25 p.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop on a grey GMC Yukon on the southbound 5 Freeway north of Lake Hughes Road in Castaic, said Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.

“The driver failed to yield and a short pursuit ensued,” Burgos-Lopez said. “The vehicle came to a stop on I-5 SB at Lake Hughes Road.” 

The driver, Alexander Wills was arrested for misdemeanor evading. 

“The driver was determined to have a no bail arrest warrant out of Idaho for sexual assault,” Burgos-Lopez said.

The suspect was transported to the SCV Sheriff’s Station jail.
