Transient Arrested After Attempting To Take Deputy’s Firearm In Valencia

A transient was arrested Sunday after she allegedly attempted to take a deputy’s firearm while he was investigating a 911 hang up call in Valencia.

Around 7:20 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a welfare check in the 24200 block of Valencia Boulevard in Valencia, regarding a 911 call from a female adult who then disconnected the line, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Upon arrival, deputies located the woman who called 911.

“During the interaction, (the suspect) attempted to grab the deputy’s holstered firearm,” Miller said.

Abigail Arnold, 31, a transient, was arrested on felony charges of attempting to remove a firearm from a peace officer, according to Miller.

She was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail, where she was booked and remains in custody without bail.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
